Day 336 ~ When I Started Blogging...

Even though I am on "my home~stretch"... Taking Back My Life ~ Making It My Own will not be the last that you see of me!

336 days ago when I started blogging... I had a mindset that I was only going to this for one year.  Just like Julie did in Julie & Julia (my inspiration).  The only difference with Julie and me is that she was cooking to blog and I ... well I was healing to blog.  

336 days ago when I started blogging... I had no clue what I would do after the year was up.  Didn't even think that far ahead, other than wanting to be happy.  {with my family by my side}

336 days ago when I started blogging... I had so much pain, hurt, anger, and resentment inside me.  {One thing was clear, I did not want my daughter to follow in my footsteps.  The cycle needed to end.}

336 days ago when I started blogging... I had no idea that with time my pain, hurt, anger, and resentment would diminish.   

336 days ago when I started blogging... I never ever thought that I would accept all that caused  my pain, hurt, anger, and resentment.

336 days ago when I started blogging... I had no idea that it would end up playing a major role in my healing process.

336 days ago... I did not know that within time I would soon fall in love with blogging.  That I would see how much I missed writing and journaling.

336 days ago... I would have thought you were nuts if you would have told me that I would set up my own website and add three additional blogs to my repertoire.  [and another underworks!] 

 

336 days ago... I would have thought I was nuts to think that I would soon be unveiling my new website ----> on Mother's Day.  

Simply put... I just had no idea all this wonderfulness would be going on.  Not to say that I did not see some rough times... some say you have to relive bad times in order to heal from them. ... and If they haven't said that, then I am saying it!

Day 223 ~ Techie Angels Will Rejoice Again

I have a great deal of respect for web page designers!  My page (kinda) crashed a few hours ago and all I have been doing is scrambling to get my custom title back on my blog.  I have no clue as to why my title disappeared in the first place... and yes, I have already contacted blogger's tech support.  No response yet.  [I miss my personalized graphics] 

I really want to make my actual blog simple, and focus more on my actual website.  I can put all the bells and whistles on that.  

Oh ... It just dawned on me, today has not been a good day for my IT department (wink, wink).  Probably around three or four this afternoon, my internet all of a sudden went down.  After a brief moment of panic... I knew I had to keep it together... next thing I knew I had been on the phone with AT&T's tech support for about an hour.  

What ended on a positive note, actually started out outright infuriating.  When I first called their tech support, I was placed on AT&T's automated tech support assistance [of HELL]!  Let me tell you... after about two minutes I wanted to reach through the phone and destroy their system!

When I finally was able to talk to a live "being", I was so grateful!!  I learned a long time ago that you catch more bees with honey.  Before I knew it, what actually ended up taking about an hour and a half, Chris, of tech support, had me up and running again and made it seem effortless . 

And the Angels rejoiced!!  AAAAhhhhhhhhh!!!

So... today besides spending about three hours of troubleshooting on my own, I spent an additional forty-five minutes with Dell's tech support... new dvd drive on its way... check... another hour and a half with AT&T... internet running strong... check... 

Tomorrow I will tackle HP (... check...) and hopefully I will get to the bottom of why my printer is not doing what it was hired to do!

btw... I love extended warranties!!

Day 214 ~ Bloggeritis?

If you could see me now, you would start laughing uncontrollably!  I am sitting here attempting to write tonight's post, while propped up by a multitude of pillows, a huge rolled up beach towel wrapped around my neck [in order to help me hold my head up]... and it is an understatement for me to say that I am in excruciating pain!

After spending hours upon hours working on my new website, I came down with bloggeritis!  This is where your neck goes in lock down mode!  There was a point where I could not even move my jaw or swallow!  As if I was trying to balance a fifteen pound bowling ball on a pin!  I have one word for you... OUCH!

Being that I can barely see my keyboard (I can not move my head side to side, up or down, left or right without it feeling as if my head was going to roll off my neck!) I am calling it a night.

Oh my!, this really hurts.

Day 213 ~ If You Build It...

Well... trying to get inspired tonight seems hopeless... especially since all I have on my mind is the creation of my new website.

I recently decided that it would be a great idea to get my own domain name.  I want to have a home base for all my creations.  A gallery to show off all my art pieces, as well as my pottery.  A library for my blogs to live in one place.  A place to promote fellow bloggers, as well as myself.  Having my own domain will allow me the creative freedom on my site, giving me the room to expand.


And yes... it is a little more than just a hop, skip and a jump... but no worries... I will be able to do it.  It will just take a little longer to lay everything out.  I just have to think everything out... take a look at different friends' blogs... get some ideas... give some thought as to how I want my site to look and run...  and vIoLA! ... a new web site is born!


From my mouth to God's ears!  Here's to a smooth quest in building my new website!  Salud! or as the British say... Cheers!
