Day 216 ~ The High and Low of My Day

So I just learned the hard way that I just can't do anything just a "little!!"  I tried taking it easy today because my neck was not 100%... however... I just could not leave well enough alone!  Aiy Ya YAI!!

You got it... I just could not let the dishes pile up, It's not like I could hide them in the dishwasher (I am the "dishwasher" and Dean jumps in to pinch hit more times than not); the daily dirt and dust on our floors (we do not have any carpeting and have to sweep daily); and needless to say dinner had to be made.

Now I sit here with the same ginormous beach towel rolled up and wrapped around my neck... and YES!! the Bloggeritis is back!  ... and...  before I am forced to have more down time... I must leave the computer alone and CHILL!!  [My low.]

So... to truly make this post short and sweet [and to end tonight's post on a great note) ... I want to share one last little piece of my life with you ... the highlight of my day... drum roll please... I once again have been selected by voiceBoksas one of ten featured members of the week [this is the second time since I became a member at the end of November, 2011].  Quick plug for voiceBoks...(wink, wink)  I absolutely love this online blogging community of moms, who support one another on or with their blogs.  I have met some really wonderful, creative women (writers,  authors and creative geniuses.)  This site has really added a great quality to my life! Thanks dolls!  Blessings to you all!

Day 215 ~ Holding My Head Up High!

Just as quickly as my bloggeritis* flared up, it subsided.  Although I must add that I have taken a little break away from the new website until I am sure my neck is okay.

*Bloggeritis- symptoms: neck becomes stiff, in complete lock-down; unable to move head in any position, right, left, up or down; head seems to become very heavy, as if one is trying to balance a fifteen pound bowling ball on a needle; can be so severe where it becomes difficult to open mouth or simply even swallow saliva.  treatment: DON'T MOVE! (wink, wink) No really, you can't move; relax. Yeah right! How can anyone relax when your head all of a sudden becomes difficult to balance on your neck!; Thanks to the McGyver in my husband (everyone needs a McGyver in their life! and If you do not know who is McGyver... watch old episodes on tv.com Channel? No really.. you're making me feel ancient!!)... take big, HUGE, beach towel and roll it up.  Take rolled towel and place around neck... wear as an accessory for next twelve hours, possibly sleeping with it,

Wow!  I tell you... I have not felt anything as painful since I had my children!  I mentioned in my last post, that there was a moment that I attempted to simply swallow my saliva and was not able to.  I got scared for a spit (attempt at humor) second, but came out of it alright.

I remember getting up to talk to Dean and literally got stuck.  I went to take a step and then I froze.  I could not even take a step... I have never gotten a stiff neck like that.  Definitely bloggeritis!

As I woke this morning, I carefully opened my eyes and got out of bed carefully.  I carefully got out of bed and took my steps ever so tenderly towards the bathroom.  As I took each step I tried moving my neck more and more... and... I was able to move my neck!  Hurray!!

After sleeping all night with a huge beach towel rolled up and wrapped around my neck... my neck felt decent.  A little stiff, but decent.

Did the beach towel do the trick?  Who knows?  Regardless... what I do know is, today I was able to hold my head up high and take my little girl to her first gymnastic's lesson... She had an absolute blast!  Can't remember the last time she was so excited and happy.

Day 214 ~ Bloggeritis?

If you could see me now, you would start laughing uncontrollably!  I am sitting here attempting to write tonight's post, while propped up by a multitude of pillows, a huge rolled up beach towel wrapped around my neck [in order to help me hold my head up]... and it is an understatement for me to say that I am in excruciating pain!

After spending hours upon hours working on my new website, I came down with bloggeritis!  This is where your neck goes in lock down mode!  There was a point where I could not even move my jaw or swallow!  As if I was trying to balance a fifteen pound bowling ball on a pin!  I have one word for you... OUCH!

Being that I can barely see my keyboard (I can not move my head side to side, up or down, left or right without it feeling as if my head was going to roll off my neck!) I am calling it a night.

Oh my!, this really hurts.

The best six doctors anywhere
And no one can deny it
Are sunshine, water, rest, and air
Exercise and diet.
These six will gladly you attend
If only you are willing
Your mind they'll ease
Your will they'll mend
And charge you not a shilling.
~Nursery rhyme quoted by Wayne Fields, What the River Knows, 1990
