Day 346 ~ Dino Pinch Hits! ;)

Ask and I shall receive!  Nice.

Thank you Jesus!...  Today was a better day than yesterday.  Not very productive, but much better.  wink, wink. Baby steps.

Dino, my hubby, kinda took over... my allergies kicked in today, as I woke up with my glands very swollen and ears bothering me.

I did do a little housework this morning, but when it came time to take Calley to the "Y" for her tumbling class and cheer leading class... well... I mentioned to Dino that I just did not feel all that well.

Dino, jumped in and we both agreed that we didn't want Calley missing any classes... so he volunteered to take her.  Which to me translated to nearly two and a half hours of quiet time at home...  What me alone at home!?!?  hahaha..  It just hit me!!  wink, wink!!

Not only that, but then I even took a nap!  I remember Dino and Calley getting back from the "Y" and then the next thing I knew it was six in the evening!

Dinner time, then bed time.  Nice.

Boy today sure went by fast.  ;)  Thank you Dino for pinch hitting for me.  wink, wink.

Day 173 ~ Kissing Boo Boos

Calley and I
I was reminded today of the important role I hold as being a mother, or rather a "mommy" as I was often called today.

My sweet little girl had a rough night last night having been up most of it with a horrible "barking" like cough, accompanied by a bad sore throat... which only translates to my being up most of the night as well.

There's nothing worse than witnessing your baby not feeling well, except not being able to do much about it other than to let the little "virus" run its course.  At least that is what her doctor told us after having spent nearly a couple of hours at his office.  Oh... and that Calley will get worse in the next three days before she will get better.  (big sad face)

The great part of all of this is that this is the first time this school year that Calley has gotten sick.  You see, last year, and the year before that, she had such severe allergies that she was once hospitalized... and she also develops asthma from her allergies.  Last year alone she missed 62 days of school!

This year Dean and I decided to keep Calley home... the result... she has not had any asthma flare ups thus far this school year!!  YAY!!

I will leave this subject as is in hopes to not jinx the situation.

However, I will say that I did enjoy the slower pace today... too bad it was at the expense of Calley getting sick for me to enjoy her "slower" pace... she snuggled up to me all the while requiring many hugs and many kisses, especially on the "boo boos."  Funny how I can finally keep up with her when she is sick.

It is times like these that I really miss not having been there for my sons when they needed me most.

A mother's love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.
~  Agatha Christie

Grown don't mean nothing to a mother. A child is a child. They get bigger, older, but grown? What's that suppose to mean? In my heart it don't mean a thing.  ~ Toni Morrison

I am thankful for the privilege of being a mommy.

Blessings to all!!

Day 147 ~ Fall Allergies

I never knew how bad my friends back in Los Angeles had it when allergy season would strike for them, not until we moved to El Paso that is.  Funny thing, a lot of people move to El Paso to help rid their allergies, because of the dry weather.  I always have to be odd woman out!  (hahaha)

Nothing worse than feeling pressure in between your eyes, down to your sinuses and out through your eyes.  I can barely hold my eyes open due to all the sneezing!

I am such a whinny baby when it comes to head congestion.  Don't misunderstand me now, I get my work done... however very slowly.  Oh well, nothing a netti pot can't cure.  (by the time I take allergy medicine I am already congested, not to mention that it takes forever to work.)

Tonight on the other hand... my head has been taken over!  I feel like my entire brain has been sucked up and spit out!  At least it seems like it.

Regardless... this most certainly does not mean that I can not maintain a positive attitude and forge forward.  And please excuse my post tonight.  Seems as if all I have done is babble!  I am not in my right mind right now and will make it up to you tomorrow.  (big smile)

I am thankful for my positive attitude.
