Day 505 ~ Give Joy, Get Joy! (XVIII)

"You will show me the path of life.  In your presence is fullness of joy . . . Happy are the people whose God is the Lord!'" (Psalm 16:11a; 144:15b)
"A merry heart does good like medicine . . ." (Proverbs 17:22a)
  • You can't say anything negative about your husband . . . to your husband . . . or to anyone else, about your husband.
  • Say something that you admire or appreciate about your husband . . . to your husband . . . and to someone else, about your husband!
It's hard to criticize others when we are enjoying their company. Instead of speaking negatively to your husband today, enjoy him! Encourage him! As you experience fullness of joy with God, share some of that joy with your husband. Does your husband have a playful side? A great sense of humor? Is there a "little boy" that wants to escape from time to time, reflecting the joy in his heart? This is a wonderful part of who he is, and a great strength. Let him know that you appreciate his joyfulness and his playful spirit. Find opportunities to join him in positive play times.
If your husband can sometimes be overly serious, coax him out occasionally for some play times. It will help him relieve stress and relax.
Day 18 ! . . .
I'm going to keep this simple and not let it get too wordy.

If someone is always nice to you, giving you joy, making you laugh, telling you how great you are... well you very well can't get mad at them ... now can you?

I'd say that it would truly make it difficult.

So give it a try.

I have.

If you think about it that's all I've been doing with this challenge... encouraging my husband... telling him how great he is... how much we appreciate him... how thankful we are for him and all he does for us.

There's a bonus to this challenge too... a happy home!!

[here's to you finding your... ]

Peace...

Day 306 ~ "H" is for Happy

Moving right along... not skipping a step... I have to start off by saying that I am really enjoying this A to Z Challenge.

I think, and I believe I may have already said this before, more or less the challenge here is to blog every day.  Not to brag, but I'm already doing that.  On top of that there's a basic theme... choosing a subject each day corresponding to the letter of the alphabet for that day.

Okay so maybe that's where the challenge is for me, that and not to read other's blogs until I have written mine.  I admit it... and it has been determined, that in it self has been challenging.  Only because of my normal routine...

I like to start my day on a positive note, so I read and blog hop in the morning... then, as a matter of cleansing (although I have never looked at it this way) the negative parts of the day, I finish off my day by blogging [my experiences of the day] at night.  Ending my day on a positive note.

So there poses my challenge.  Maybe I need to get a day ahead?  Hmmmm... almost sounds like another challenge!

My "H" word seems to have crept in under radar.  You see, I somehow kept thinking of one of my favorite quotes, which my father-in-law uses as his "mantra" (he even makes it a point to drill it into my husband and his brother's heads.) ...  which by the way, I'm forever indebted to him for.
happy wife is a  happy life!  ~ Gavin Rossdale
Happy.  (my "H" word.)

I think we can possibly agree that happiness is like art, subjective.  Because what makes me happy (eating a bowl of spicy tuna for lunch) can just very well gross you out!  lol!  Who could not love spicy tuna for lunch?!  Get my drift?

Am I happy?

Let me see... I am married to my best friend, who by the way may miss the hamper once in a while, but comes home to me and Calley everyday!  I have two sons (24, 21,) who are coming out into their own... and a beautiful little girl, Calley (5)-  who on a daily basis reminds me what love and  happiness is all about.  That's all that matters.  Everything else is replaceable.

Yes, I am happy.  I could probably tweek a couple of things (working on it) here and there... but other than that... I would not change a thing!

Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary, Happy New Year, Happy Valentine's Day, Happy St. Patrick's Day, Happy Easter, Happy Mother's Day, Happy Memorial Day, Happy Father's Day, Happy 4th of July, Happy Labor Day, Happy Halloween, Happy Thanksgiving, Happy Christmas (England), Happy Hannukkah, Happy Friday, Happy Monday (okay, I'm pushing it now- lol), Happy Place ... and the best one yet... Happy Hour!

Blogging A to Z Challenge April 2012... What will "I" have for us tomorrow?

Blessings to all!!

Day 140 ~ My AHA Moment

I'm so happy I could
jump on Oprah's couch!
Today I experience an "AHA!" moment that unquestionably made me feel good about myself... I believed in myself.

As the title of my blog suggests... for the first time ever... in my life... I felt as if I was owning my life.  I felt/feel like I am "taking back my life, and making it my own."  Seriously.  I had a moment where my past was where it belonged, and I was accepting it for what it was.  I felt, without a doubt that all I wanted to do and obtain, was and is doable.  I had/have no second thoughts, uneasy feelings nor did I question myself.  All my plans (dreams) will come true.

Right now I feel as if I could do or conquer anything...

Oh, how I wish you could feel this same amazing feeling.

Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.   ~Abraham Lincoln

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion.  If you want to be happy, practice compassion.   ~Dalai Lama

Real elation is when you feel you could touch a star without standing on tiptoe.  ~Doug Larson

 Blessings to all!!
