WOW!!  We made it!!  I made it!!  It is December and lived to see it.  I am totally having fun here, even though there's a lot of truth to what I said.

Decorations out. . .  check.

Lights up . . . check.

Presents bought . . . working on it.

~ Always Color Outside the Lines

As a child I was taught to always paint the sky blue and the grass green.  
I was told to be very careful and stay inside the lines.
Why did they do that?
Life is too full of possibilities to conform to unimportant rules that in the end don't matter.
Rules like these stifle our creativity and halt our progress to acheiving our full potential.
SO go ahead, splash violet, melon, and chartreuse all over your work . . .
splatter it on the floor if the spirit so moves you.
For now is the time to embrace your creativity.
Break the rules . . . 
and whatever you do, don't worry about staying inside the lines.

Taking a day away from my 30 Day Husband Encouragement Challenge to bring you Suzy's message this month...

Okay... I am not even going to start on how it is November already!!  It seems like only yesterday when I decided to share Suzy Toronto's calendar with you.  wink, wink.

And here we sit today... weeks from Thanksgiving and days from The Blessed Spoon delivering their first 10 meals!!

Everyone should be actively engaged in something they truly believe in...
I believe in chocolate.
As a matter of fact, I believe in excessive amounts of really good, rich, dark chocolate.
Besides, I can't think think of anything else that's not immoral or illegal that makes me as happy.

And now they say it's actually good for us!
So there you go... it's a green light, a legitimate excuse, PERMISSION FROM GOD to eat all the chocolate you want!

Day 481 ~ Suzy Toronto's Message for October

This is absolutely crazy!!  October 1st is here and it was HOT out today!  What ever happened to Fall weather?  Here's to hoping that Fall weather arrives sometime this month!  wink, wink.

Never mind that three quarter of the year is GONE!... and before we all know it we'll be doing Thanksgiving dishes and contemplating if we're crazy enough to go Christmas shopping at midnight.

I mean seriously what has happened to our world my world?  Crazy a$$ hot summers, a little touch of fall, winter here and gone with a faint touch of spring that lasts what seems to be a week.  Not to mention that retailers now think that our start to the Christmas shopping season was silly to begin at six in the morning, and that midnight is much better!  I have a few choice words for them, however I chose quite some time ago not to use foul language!

So... back to the subject at hand... let's do a recap here...

In our effort to masquerade as people who really have our acts together,
goofs, blunders, and faux pas often slip out.
We get our feet stuck so far in our mouths or our skirts flung up so high 
over our heads that the spectacle is hard to miss.

This is where laughing at ourselves becomes a lifesaving virtue.
So next time your inner "goofball" slips out,

Day 451 ~ Susy Toronto's Message for September

September 1st!  All I can think of is how Christmas is now around the corner.  I'm sick aren't I?  LOL!!  Okay ... I'm really laughing... hard!

No but seriously... I survived the first week of Kindergarten, as did Calley... Halloween decorations are already going up in the stores... a-eesh! see I told you ... Christmas is around the corner!  

Here... listen.  As I said Halloween is around the corner... and I'm serious, in a blink of an eye it will be here... what will seem like maybe a couple of weeks of school, will actually be eight and a half.  First there's Halloween to get things going, then Christmas decorations will start showing up every where, then Thanksgiving whizzes by and before you know it ... a shopping we will go and Christmas will have arrived.  {and} 14 weeks will have gone by!

Plan A is always my first choice.
You know, the one where everything works out to be "happily ever after."
But more often than not, I find myself dealing with the 
upside-down. inside-out version where nothing goes as it should. 
It's at the point the real test of my character comes in...
Do I sink or do I swim?  Do I wallow in self-pity and play the victim or
simply shift gears and make the best of the situation? 
The choice is mine.  After all... life is all about how you handle the plan B.

Day 440 ~ August's Message {better late than never}

August!  Really?  Not only that, but I am once again getting Suzy's message out for the month with the month two thirds done.

Where has time gone?  Another summer put away in our memory banks, left behind for future enjoyment.  The hustle and bustle around town of families playing the "school supply" scavenger hunt game... down to the last packet of 8-1/2 x 11 construction paper.  {Anyone else have trouble with this one?}

I wonder.... do teacher check with the stores to make sure they carry certain school supplies. especially when requiring it by brand?  LOL!  I went to two different stores for Made in the USA pencils and with no luck at seven stores for 8-1/2 x 11 construction paper.

I will forever treasure the time spent my family spent together the Summer of 2012...

However... just like every year at this time... this girl can not wait for Fall!!  wink, wink.

It is a known fact that goddesses attract other goddesses.

You know, "Birds of a feather..."

But the really cool thing is that quite often they flock together long before

they reach their true lofty status of "goddess," giving their friendships the depth only time can give.

By the time they become goddesses, they've been gathering together for so long,

giving, sharing, loving, and caring,

that they know intimate details about each other's lives... making their bond unbreakable.

Whether shopping, going out to lunch, lounging over a pedicure,

or sitting on the beach, a gathering of goddesses can't be missed.

Just listen for the buss of friendship, the tears of shared sorrows, and the fits of irrepressible laughter.

You'll know in a minute you're in the presence of greatness.

Day 404 ~ July's Message {better late than never}

Here I've been so busy finding myself... bonding with God... finding my religion (hey.. isn't that ... never mind) ... lol... anyways... back to reality now... no, seriously... continuing with what I should have shared with you two weeks ago, at the beginning of July...

July?... July? ... Yes July!!...  {and} In our home, because Calley is so excited to start kindergarten, we are counting down to when school starts.  41 days 9 hours 41 minutes 13 seconds (and counting)...  

I know... in most homes kids shutter at the thought of Summer 2012 half way being over.  Families returning from summer vacations.  Summer camps underway, and some are even over...  wow... another summer with memories outliving summer itself.

Okay!  There's still some summer left!  Let's soak it in all we can!!  Enjoy!

~ Life Is Too Short to Wear Pantyhose!

I can't think of anything more uncomfortable,

 claustrophobic, or irritating than a pair of pantyhose.

Whoever invented them either hated women, was into sadistic torture,

 or, at the very last, never tried a pair on.

I'd rather have a root canal than shimmy and shake myself into a pair-

much less proceed to wear them all day.

(It doesn't help that such stockings are usually associated with some sort of

confining, unyielding, contoured shoes that squeeze the life out of my feet.)

Besides, how can I show off a new pedicure, tiny toe rings, and funky flip-flops

if I'm squeezed into such a ridiculous contraption?

Life is just too short to wear pantyhose!

Day 369 ~ June's Message {better late than never}

June... Yes June...

School is getting out.  Summer 2012 has almost officially began.  Families getting ready for summer vacations.  Some kids even looking forward to summer camp.

In my house... my Calley, who's 5 years old (in case you didn't know), is counting down to when school starts in August.  We are at almost 76 days away.  I'm a little excited for Calley too.

But for the meanwhile, we will enjoy the fact that it is June and that Father's Day is around the corner.  I was told once not to rush time... it will get here on its own.

With my brain in high gear, I can think up all kinds

of fun places to visit and things to do.

I can close my eyes and envision myself sitting

on a balmy beach, toes curled in the sand.

Or in the blink of an eye,

I can see myself skiing

down a  mountain of soft, powdery snow,

living my own version of

"Rocky Mountain High."

The best thing is this: not only can I

think all these things up in my head...

if I want I can make them a reality.

The potential is within me to be and do anything

I set my mind to... and so can you.
