Day 60 ~ Favorite Road Trip?

Happy 100th (+1 day) Lucy! We love you!

WOW!  Usually... by this time I have recovered from a road trip/drive... however, I am still feeling  pretty exhausted.

I know what can explain part of it... since we've gotten back home, it's like we've only stopped long enough for a little breaks... but not long enough to fully rest.

Regardless, I'd have to say that this was my ALL-TIME favorite road trip EVER!

To add insult to injury... hahaha... I've been wanting to use that line...  oh brother, now I am convinced that my brain is mush!  I was going to say, that my brain feels like mush... and with that said, I'm sure you don't need much convincing either!  lol!

I will stop while I'm ahead... and wish you all sweet dreams... sleep with little angels (as Calley would say.)

Day 59 ~ "Life" Does Not Take A Break.

After what ended up being a fourteen hour drive, due to the infamous Los Angeles traffic, we finally found ourselves home safe at about 5:30 this morning.

Once we arrived, three things kept Dino and I from sleeping the day away once the car was unloaded (with James' help ~ Thank you James!!)... one was Calley.  (big smile)

Unlike the two of us, she was able to sleep at least the last six hours of our drive and then another three after we got home... and once she woke up at ten, I had to get up!  (dragging butt and all!)

I let Dean sleep whilst we went to get a birthday gift for Calley's "best friend" Alina, who's party was early this evening.  The second reason we couldn't sleep the day away.

The last reason we couldn't sleep all day, was that when I returned the rental car I had to call Dino to have him pick Calley and me up... however the battery was dead on our loaner car from the mechanic.**  and Dino needed to charge the battery [again... thank you James!!].

Bottom line... once we got home, we could not sleep all day because life happened!

After dozing off several times during our drive home, yet not being able to sleep...  It's very difficult for me to sleep... I feel I need to be awake~  what if Dino fell asleep and I could have prevented it?!  (I know that Dino would definitely pull over if he was even slightly tired... however the fear is still there.) ... it is hard to believe that I am actually writing my post tonight.   I am very tired, and feel as if I am babbling!  lol!   I think I am making this post short tonight.  (big tired smile.)

I wish you all a wonderful night's rest!  May you all sleep with little angels.

** [ YES, I still do not have my car... next week my mechanic will have had my  car for over NINETEEN WEEKS!! -  basically... then some, and ALL SUMMER!! and then some more!! ]  I am definitely not having good thoughts right now.  lol!  I wonder what story I will get come Monday when I stop by. He knows we went on vacation, therefore we even gave him two weeks to GET 'ER DONE!!  I will now put positive thoughts out there... all things will be taken care of on my car, my car will be done and will be running great!

Day 45 ~ Great Drive, Great Times, Great Friends, Great Fun!!

Ok, we now know that dieting and being excited are good reasons for being at a loss for words... well, so is exhaustion!!

We did stop at a rest stop, to rest, and we did so for three hours.

Well with that said, It's been an absolute long time since I have had only three hours worth of rest.  Putting that off to the side...

We had a great road trip.  Calley slept most of the way, woke up just a couple of times, and was up with the sun.  She did take a couple of snoozes... which made for a quiet trip.

That with the exception of rocking out to classic rock... Dean and I always have so mush fun with this... we sing to old tunes and rock out.  Calley woke up in time to witness my Axel Rose snake, as did the cars next to us.  I think the consensus among all of them, was that I was nuts!!

I would have to say that this was one of the best road trips... with the assistance of my laptop and a wireless broadband usb... I was able to be on my computer, Facebook and do my blogs, all while on the road!!  Not only that but... I felt like all my friends were on my road trip too!!

Thanks so much for helping make this such a memorable trip!  It was so much fun sharing the drive out with you all!! One thing is for sure, I will never go on a long drive with out you all again!!  Love you bunches!!

I am blessed with many wonderful friends.
I can easily be myself around my friends.
I regularly tell my friends how much I love and appreciate them,
Blessings to all!

Day 44 ~ Are We There Yet?

Last night it was the diet had me at a loss for words... today the road trip!!  Actually, I was so excited ... but then everything I would put off to the side to take with us somehow found itself in Calley's hands and then somewhere else!!  I could not keep track of anything... If we didn't forget something, it was because of a miracle!

Talk about frustration!!  Don't know how many times I told Calley that we were putting everything in one place for the road trip... but to no avail.. there we went again!  I had to remind myself how it was as a child...and we were once again having fun!!

Calley certainly is more challenging than my boys, more times than not... but bottom line she's a barrel of fun!!

Prior to leaving the house, she was literally doing laps in the living room!  I was getting tired just watching... but then all I could think of was the fact that she was going to pass out before we hit Las Cruces, New Mexico (which is only forty minutes out from our house.)  I think the last thing she heard was, "the sooner you fall asleep, the closer we will be to LA...) and with that she was out!

I remember when the boys and I would do the drive from Seattle to Los Angeles... we always drove at night... the only way to go... with kids or without!  No traffic, it's a lot cooler, and when the kids finally wake up we have just a little bit to go.

The boys and I would play games, I'd have an atlas for them to follow along... and then there was "SLUG BUG!" out of the blue!  All I can say is that my arm ended up being really sore.  There was also the alphabet game... that game was great... it could last for hours sometimes. For those of you unfamiliar to the game, it's where you have to find things on the road according to the letter that was next, starting with "a" and so on.

But with the boys, even with two of them, they seemed so calm by comparison.  I don't even remember them fighting.  They rarely fought.  Addison always took care of Logan... he was always a good brother, as was Logan.  I was blessed... definitely.

Oh how time goes by...  and here in a week a thirty year reunion for me!   Time definitely flies.

Life is a joy filled with delightful surprises
My life is a joy filled with love, fun and friendship all I need do is stop all criticism, forgive, relax and be open.
I choose love, joy and freedom, open my heart and allow wonderful things to flow into my life.

Blessings to all!
