To refresh your memory, here's the 30-Day Encouragement Challenge for the next 30 days:"Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to hearers." (Ephesians 4:29)
- You can't say anything negative about your husband . . . to your husband . . . or to anyone else, about your husband.
- Say something that you admire or appreciate about your husband . . . to your husband . . . and to someone else, about your husband!
Another way to describe the positive side of this "30-Day Encouragement Challenge" is by using the word "edify," which means, "to build up." Negative comments only discourage and tear down. Positive comments encourage and build.
Here's day 5 ...
Do you edify your husband before others, adding to his value in their eyes? This is especially important to other family members.Do you praise your husband to his relatives, and yours? Does your husband's mother know how much you love him? How about your dad? Perhaps you can drop a word of praise into a conversation or letter. Be creative in letting your relatives know that you respect your husband, love him, and support him - in spite of whatever flaws and weaknesses he may have.
I'm going to keep this simple and not let it get too wordy.
I have really been sticking to this challenge. This is almost very eerie... I say this because we have been getting along. Even with the temporary loss of temper I experienced the other morning, I felt really guilty and made amends immediately.
Seriously... I don't know if we've been getting along because of the mindset I have put myself in or if my "encouragement" thus far has made a difference.
I tend to think that it is a bit too early in the ball game to answer that question, being that I am only on day 5... however... I will not rock the boat too much worrying about it at this point. wink, wink.
I will say this much... I don't know if it is my imagination or not, but my husband has been helping a little more around the house and his patience has increased. :)
Hmmmmm...... Kinda makes you go .... hmmmmmm....

I was excited about this when I saw it. Thought I might give it a go. Then immediately my hubby started doing all the things that hurt my feelings and rub me the wrong way. Which made me feel there was no way I could do this challenge. Then of course it occurs to me that would be exactly what Satan would want...me to be too discouraged to do the challenge. So I may yet try the challenge. I'll let you know if I do. ;o)
