What have I learned about myself this past year {blogging}..? hmmmm... First off... I would like to make sure you know up front... I never had blogged before until I started this blog 349 days ago. Secondly... I never intended on learning anything. HAHA! LOL! No but seriously... It wasn't my intention... Check out what my intention(s) were/are here.
So here goes... What I Learned About Me... from A to Z
"J" is for... Jesus {take the wheel}.
I have been saving this post for a while now and feel that there isn't a more appropriate time for me to post it.
Once more ... I can not reiterate enough what blogging has done for me. I think it is more about the new found strength I have gained... within myself that is... about myself... and about life.
Somehow within this new rebirth of mine, I have also gained more love and respect for my Lord, Jesus.
Not too long ago I heard this song...
Jesus Take The Wheel
Songwriters: James, Brett; Lindsey, Hillary; Sampson, Gordie;
She was driving last Friday on her way to Cincinnati
On a snow white Christmas Eve
Going home to see her Mama and her Daddy
With the baby in the backseat
Fifty miles to go and she was running low
On faith and gasoline
It'd been a long hard year
She had a lot on her mind and she didn't pay attention
She was going way too fast
Before she knew it she was spinning
On a thin black sheet of glass
She saw both their lives flash before her eyes
She didn't even have time to cry
She was so scared
She threw her hands up in the air
Jesus, take the wheel
Take it from my hands
?Cause I can't do this on my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
To save me from this road I'm on
Jesus, take the wheel
It was still getting colder when she made it to the shoulder
And the car came to a stop
She cried when she saw that baby in the backseat
Sleeping like a rock
And for the first time in a long time
She bowed her head to pray
She said I'm sorry for the way
I've been living my life
I know I've got to change
So from now on tonight
Jesus, take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can't do this on my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
To save me from this road I'm on
Oh Jesus, take the wheel
Oh, I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I'm on
From this road I'm on
Jesus, take the wheel
Oh, take it, take it from me
Oh, why, ooh
Needless to say... "Jesus" took the wheel in my life long ago... just to me a while to realize it.
On another note... today I reached 29,000+ views on my blog. WOW! What an awesome thing it would be if I made 30,000+ within 11 days or less.
Tomorrow... What I Learned About Me... from A to Z ... the letter(s) "K" & "L".
[here's to you finding your... ]
Peace...
11 days to go... {tears are forming in my eyes...}
... for a, l & c. you are my sunshine(s).

I, too, had a "Jesus take the wheel" time in my life. About age 31. And I, too, came to realize His hand had been upon the wheel from age 11 when I accepted Him as my Savior. Trouble was I had never took my hands off. ;o) - Barbara
Life & Faith in Caneyhead
Bless your heart. That is a wonderful song. I had the privilege of listening to the songwriters of that song talk about it all coming together a few years ago. Letting go and having complete faith is hard. Best of luck
I love this song, Carla! And I love how you included it in this post about what blogging has done for you. I feel the same way. It has strengthened me and strengthened my faith... the more I write, the more real He becomes to me! Thanks for sharing this. :)
I love this song, Carla!! I'm so glad I gave Jesus control of the wheel a long time ago. I tend to really screw things up when I'm in control! :)
Blessings,
~Erin
Oh my Carla I have been in the Jesus take the wheel position before, and knew later that he was still there holding on. God is a good God, you always get me started early in the morning, I love these Godly posts :-)
I like Barbara have had to hand the wheel over more than once. I am thankful for His grace and mercy and willingness to continue on this journey with me and glad for the times when I totally release the wheel to Him!! 11 more days!!!
I think this is going to be my new mantra "Jesus Take the Wheel" Thanks Carla!
This is such a great song and truly holds so much meaning for our lives if we'll really apply it. I want to back off so He has room to maneuver in my life!
Such a great song and reminder. In daily life, it is really hard to remember to let Jesus have the wheel. I am a complete control freak, so this is a CONSTANT struggle for me!
I love that song. It's a beautiful melody and the words have such a deep meaning. It is hard to let Jesus take the wheel but we need to trust in Him and let him steer the way.
Antoher great post Carla!
I have been blogging for almost 6 months - glad to have found bloggers like you!
