Day 430 ~ #22 of My 30 Days of Truth...

My 30 Days of Truth challenge   I will admit that I changed one question and changed a few curse words... other than that the challenge is intact.

Day 22 of My days of Truth
Day 22: Something you wish you hadn't done in your life...

After some thought, I feel that the "thing" I wish I had not done in my life is...

I wish I had never abused my "temple".

I think if I had been taught to think of my body as a temple I would not have beaten it up so much.

I feel that I would have thought of my body as a temple I would be in better shape today.  Ok... not that I am in totally bad shape...

However... I am sure that if I had not smoked cigarettes for seven years of my life my lungs would be shiny clean and I would not have reduced my life span.  They say that for every cigarette you smoke it takes seven minutes away from your life.

... I am sure that if I had not done my share of drugs in my younger years my body would be that much more purer.

... If I had not had my bout with drinking {heavily} after my first divorce... well... let's just leave it at that.

I just wish that I would have had the smarts to have taken better care of myself.
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. ~1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NIV)
Day 22 : Something you wish you hadn’t done in your life.
Day 23 : Something you wish you had done in your life.
Day 24 : Make a playlist to someone, and explain why you chose all the songs. (Just post the titles and artists and letter)
Day 25 : The reason you believe you’re still alive today.
Day 26 : Have you ever thought about giving up on life? If so, when and why?
Day 27 : What’s the best thing going for you right now?
Day 28 : Name a decision you made that caused a chain of events that would not have happened if it wasn't for that decision.
Day 29 : Something you hope to change about yourself. And why.
Day 30 : A letter to yourself, tell yourself EVERYTHING you love about yourself
Here's to 30 Days of Truth!

I am second.

[here's to you finding your... ]
Peace...

I think you have to include your teeth as your temple. We all take those for granted, and to lose them when older would really suck!

I love this! I totally agree, and have been struggling to get back in shape for the past 21 months since having my daughter. Think this is just the motivation I needed. I often forget my body is a temple!

I grew up with my mother saying my body was my temple yet I sill made mistakes. I think for a woman it's so easy to abuse ourselves, we take it all in and it has to go somewhere. I'm really on working on how to process the feelings first so that they don't have sit on my body! Thanks Carla!

What a good reminder. I am so bad at taking care of myself with these little ones. I make sure they have healthy food. I grab whatever I can find. I rarely remember my vitamins. And for teeth.... they are bad! I put off dental visits and now we can not afford a lot of the work I need to have done. I regret waiting!

Smoking cigs - guilty of the same thing, too. I used to be a heavy smoker at some point. Until I found out I was pregnant, that moment changed it all.

Nicotine-free for almost four years now. Yay to us! :D

I agree. I still do a little mistreating of my temple now and then. Luckily I've never smoked, but it does seem like I've read something about your lungs being back to at least 90% as long as you've stopped. . . and that's for serious smokers. So, if you've been stopped for a while, I'm sure your lungs have gotten themselves back to pretty sparkly by now.
