I have decided to take the bull by its horns!! That's It!! Man... I am so tired of this slump, that now it's time for some serious a$$ kicking!
Even though the countdown is running down to turning 49, I am not going to let that stop me from enjoying what is left of 48!!
I have to share with you... for as long as I can remember, when it came close to my birthday, inside the seven day hot zone, I would start celebrating the last days of that year! I can still remember celebrating the last Friday before turning sixteen, and so many other "last Fridays" too! No matter what day your birthday lands on, you will always have a last Friday to celebrate!
The "seven day hot zone" is the last week you are any particular age. Why do I call it that? I have no clue... maybe because it sounded cool. Really, who cares.. it gave me a reason to go out an celebrate longer! wink, wink.
I have always loved birthdays, and still do. I feel that someone's birthday is their special day. The day that the rest of us were blessed with having this person become a part of our lives, a part of our world.
As a child, we always celebrated birthdays. Everyone's birthday. I loved it then, and love it even more now... as long as it isn't mine! hahaha! Alright, alright... I love celebrating, just not the aging part.
Seriously now, birthdays are my thing. Once I find out when your birthday is, that's it! Written down in my calendar, or rather entered in my phone. After that, I will always remember you on your day and will let you know too.
So why have I been a pill lately? For someone that has NEVER had an issue aging, I have made up for it this past week! I mean HOLY COW!! Get over it already!! I mean, seriously! What's going to happen twenty years from now? I'll probably be wishing I was turning 50 again! LOL!!
Therefore, I will not fight it anymore. I will look upon myself as a fine wine. wink. I will only get better with time!! Even though, I didn't celebrate "my last" Thursday, Friday and Saturday like in years gone by, my last Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of the seven day hot zone will make up for it!
A comfortable old age is the reward of a well-spent youth. Instead of its bringing sad and melancholy prospects of decay, it would give us hopes of eternal youth in a better world. ~Maurice Chevalier
Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter. ~Mark Twain
Old age is no place for sissies. ~Bette DavisOne last note... I must say that it is great timing too! What a day for this to happen... my blog reached 20,000+ views today!!! WOW! Very cool. So humbling.
Blessings to all!!
81 days to go...

Hey, Happy Birthday!! Mine is around the corner in a few months. I think the hard part of aging is that it seems to go faster every year, and I would live forever if I could! I don't mind aging effects, I just want to live always. Congrats on the 20K views!
Thank you!! I never used to mind aging... honestly I didn't... It's just been the last couple of years that my reflextion has started to change. LOL!! Let's talk again before your 49th and we'll see if you feel the same. lol!! Thank you for always leaving me the nicest comments too~ Blessings.
I turned 24 this year (whoa, old I know...lol) and for the first time, I understood that whole adage "it's just another day". I literally did nothing- although I did get treated to take out pizza :) It was the first time I hadn't planned anything, but I think having a baby is a good excuse for that!
I'll be turning 30 in May and I gotta yell you, I'm actually excited. Think of it as this: another year, another breath, another chance to be with your kids! You shoulda heard me when I was turning 25! Thank God for my son last year or else I woulda been on here pretending I don't have a birthday! But now, I embrace my extended time. You should too! Plus you're a certified Cougar! Lol, I look forward to those days :-)

You are a girl after my own heart. When I turned 50, my graddaughter made the sweet comment, 'Wow Grandma, that's really old.' and my son said, 'Well Mom, you're half done.' I thought to myself, 'Half done with WHAT?'
Becky! Finally someone that understands my pain!! JK... Pain be gone! After all, Lord knows I do not act my age!!
